Strawberry Allergy
Scientist at the Lund University of Sweden has identified a protein that is believed to cause the majority of allergic reactions to strawberry. This protein is very similar to the allergy causing protein found in birch pollen. Individuals that are allergic to birch pollen can have a cross allergy reaction to some berries, fruits and to some vegetables.
If you have Strawberry Allergy then you suffer from allergies Type 1 what is also called Contact Allergies. One or more of the thousands of proteins found in strawberries causes the allergic reaction to strawberry. Why does the immune system consider some proteins harmful to the body is unknown and more studies are needed.
Bird Allergy
Like all animal allergies, dander will trigger an allergy attack to those who suffer from bird allergies. When bird preens itself or ruffles its feathers, the dander is sent into the air where it can come into contact with the skin or inhaled into the lungs. If you have watched a bird for any length of time you can actually see the dander and small bits of feather leaving the birds body.
